Exercises and training section

Exercising is paramount for maintaining, testing and evaluating the readiness and interoperability of collaborating actors. Apart from real events, exercises is one of the best tools for building preparedness to handle both crisis and war.

The Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency is tasked with ensuring that training and exercises take place within the agency's area of responsibility. That is in the fields of accident protection, crisis preparedness, and civil defense, to the extent that no other agency has that responsibility. The agency shall also conduct exercises within its area of responsibility.

What does the Exercises and training section at Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency do?

The exercises and training section at the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency is providing education, training, exercise and evaluation. The section is leading exercises, primarily comprehensive multi-sector exercises. Many of the threats that face society require cooperation between actors at different levels and across various sectors. Therefore, actors in civil defense and emergency preparedness must exercise, both individually and in collaboration with others.
