In October 2024, the government announced that MSB would be renamed Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency and that the name change would take place on 1 January 2026. The reason for this is that the new name is more in line with our mission and responsibilities.

Sweden is facing its most serious security situation since the Second World War. War and armed attacks against our country cannot be ruled out. It is total defence, the combined capability of civil and military defence, that deters war. An urgent increase in capability is now required, not least in civil defence. Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency is the leading, priorotizing and coordinating authority in civil defence.

Some services may still have the MSB logo

In 2026, we will update our digital services (websites, tools and services, apps, etc.) to reflect Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency´s new graphic design. While this work is in progress, some digital services will still have the MSB logo, web address and colours. Please note that the information in these digital services is still up to date and correct, even if the appearance has not yet been updated.
